What Exactly Does "Hearty" Mean? Well......

So something interesting has taken place at The Soup King. We received an email with a complaint. I am not really sure what the specific complaint was about....I think it began with the lack of grilled chicken for a salad. Mind you it was 8:10pm when ordered, we close at 8pm. Anyway, the gentleman also complained about our young girl behind the counter. This is a first for "Drama"! To sum it up we were told that our salads are not "hearty" without meat and that we should know that "hearty" means meat. Little clarification on the definition of hearty ~providing abundant nourishment; "a hearty meal"; "good solid food"; so cucumbers, egg, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, cheese, these are for the most part solid? Yes? Yes, chicken is offered. We have very little requests for chicken on our salads. We carry it on a limited supply to maintain freshness.

This individual continued to attack out "Little Ones" who are present in the store. He claimed that we are looking for cheap labor and that young people are prone to mistakes. We are not looking for cheap labor, we are looking to teach our children what it means to work hard for things in this world. Life does not hand you anything, you must work for it, earn it. So I am sorry that in the process of starting a new business I am utilizing the experience to educate some of the youth of today. I would like all of our young people to understand and respect this idea. Too many believe in the idea of entitlement. If I have my way, my "Little Ones" will not grow up with that idea.

As for making mistakes, well, I can certainly say that "Drama" did not make a mistake. We receive nothing but compliments about how efficient she is and how polite she is. I believe that this individual just enjoys throwing stones and decided to pick on her. Actually, he decided to pick on all of us. He also claimed that he would not eat at our establishement again. Obviously, someone who is unhappy with us makes me unhappy, but I have learned that some people will never be happy regardless of how you try to accommodate them.

Obviously this issue bothered me. "The Soup King" responded to his email with a short but sweet response. I guess trying to debate with an individual like this is a waste of time. "Muscle Guy" remembers this individual very clearly and he is hoping that he does not return to the store. We do not need any bad karma!!!

On a happier note, "The Soup King" is working on three signature items for the spring and is prepping for his cold soups!!! He was making something yummy with strawberries, vanilla yogurt, white wine, and a few other items that looked and smelled good! Hope I get to taste it!!

Well, if anyone has advice to share with me on my situation that would be great! I am trying to stay positive in every way, but this just was out there!!!!
