Who is Who Anymore?

"Fire Chick" is back in the building.....I guess we "The Soup King" is a forgiving man and is always willing to give another chance to those who try. We did have a young lady, "Nails" as I called her, for a short time. She was nice but things just didn't work out. I think she just was too much of a princess for "The Soup King". "Muscle Guy" is out sick today so I am filling in for him in the front......Should be fun! "Drama" worked all day on Monday, her day off from school. She wants and Iphone!!! Things just kind of flow around the store right now. I am eager to get home again but not til April. Guess I will have to make do.

The Texas Chili with beans has been completed and is ready for your taste buds! I hope everyone enjoys it. We are also trying new bread. We still love Il Panificio but these days things have not been so soft......We will have to wait and see how things go!

It's Been Awhile....

So it has been some time since I have written. My father was in town for about a month and I was very sad to see him go this past weekend. My sister flew in to drive back with him to PA. I was happy to see her even though it was only for two days! We did have a bit of trouble with his big dog. He was very sick and we spent the last week of his visit at the ER Vet...They were very nice. We also met a family of vets at The Gulf Gate Vet Clinic. They were wonderful and took such good care of my father's dog. They didn't even know him and they took his calls and answered all of his questions and would have him come right over if he was concerned about his dog! It was just very nice!

I have been meaning to let everyone know that we will be starting something new in the next few weeks......Our "Tripp Combo". This combo will consist of a Grilled Cheese sandwich and a cup of Tomato Basil soup. We have met one of the area's true "Golden Boys". (this comba was a suggestion from him, so why not name it for him!) Officer Tripp Schwenk has been in a few times and we love to have him! Little did we know that he is Sarasota's "Golden Boy", not just because he is one of the areas finest Law Enforcement Officers but because he his an Olympic Gold Medalist! Who knew! He was in three of four times before he spilled the beans about his exciting adventure in the 1996 Summer Olympics in at Atlanta. Not only did he win a gold medal for the 4x100 Medley Relay but a silver medal for the Men's 200M backstroke. During all of this he also had to deal with a rare kidney disease! He is is just truly amazing to me! The best part about it is that he is a great guy! He kicks back, chats with us and even lets us pet "Kuda" his partner(he is a K9 Unit Officer). The "Little Ones" love him and can't wait til he stops in with his medals to show them off! The whole idea for the combo came up one night when Tripp was in for a meal....he talked about how everyone remembers growing up with grilled cheese and tomato soup.....This of course happened right after we introduced sandwiches. So jokingly he suggested the "Tripp Combo". Well, hopefully he will let us name one for him! I will keep you posted on his thoughts!

The specials are once again Lobster Bisque, Seafood Gumbo, Spicy Asian Shrimp with Rice Noodles and French Onion for now. I believe that "The Soup King" will be making a Texas Chili with beans this week. Yes, he will still have his sweet Chili! I am hoping for a Cream of Chicken, or a Chicken and Mushroom........Ya never know!
